El 28 de Diciembre recordamos a los niños menores de dos años que el cruel Herodes hizo asesinar. Son los Santos Inocentes.
Cuando era niña y en el colegio me enseñaban Historia Sagrada, no podía comprender cómo hubo un hombre tan malo que había hecho matar a todos los niños que no habían cumplido los dos años, porque él no quería perder su poder en la tierra. Desde que Herodes fue rey han transcurrido dos mil años y ahora y aquí se siguen matando millares de niños, tan pequeños que ni siquiera han llegado a ver la luz. Herodes no quería perder su estatus, nuestra sociedad no quiere perder la comodidad, el bienestar, la libertad. Hoy los culpables de éstos atroces crímenes somos todos. Si no alzamos nuestra voz hasta que los gobiernos ensordezcan con nuestros gritos en defensa de la vida, seremos cómplices del mayor genocidio de la humanidad. No debemos lavarnos las manos cómo hizo Poncio Pilato, tenemos que clamar por la vida de los no nacidos. Ruth y Agustin, I am so sorry that I cannot read all of this or reply to you in Spanish either because I am sure I miss some really good thoughts in this way! I was just considering your title, the slaughter of the 'Innocents.' In English, 'Innocents,' sounds the same as 'Innocence.' It is a 'homonym.' If you think about it, abortion as an idea, as well as an act, destroys more than just the innocent lives of the babies. It ruins more than just the lives of the mothers who commit this act. I think our 'innocence' as a society, as human beings, is also at stake, is also being slaughtered not just be the act but by the concept.
ResponderEliminarFor me, it is similar to the use of nuclear arms. It's not a question of 'when should they be used? in what context is it appropriate?' These technologies, the ability to kill in this way, should never have been brought into existence.
So it is confusing if we approach abortion by asking ourselves questions about in what context, under what circumstances, could it be used? (This is usually the object of debate in America. What IF a mother is going to die? What IF this/that/the other?) How can anyone answer these questions? The only answer, abortion as an idea, a concept and an act should never have been conceived or brought into being. It's an invention that murders not just lives, but the soul of our humanity.
